Welcome to the newsletter for Q1 2025! We started the year with a major goal to optimise BfE Global operations. In Q1, we strengthened operations at BfE Cambridge, held an event for social entrepreneurs in Nigeria, and welcomed 7 new startups to the Spring 2025 cohort. We look forward to Q2 with great expectations. BfE has thrived on the commitment of student volunteers and professional mentors who have dedicated their resources over the years. As we grow stronger, we seek your support in strengthening our startup recruitment pipeline, honing the quality of our outputs and discovering strategies for BfE’s sustainability. If you can think of any way to help, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

BfE in Nigeria
Did you know that 80% of applicants for BfE’s Incubation Programme are social entrepreneurs from Sub-Saharan Africa? Therefore, as part of our strategy to strengthen BfE’s reach and credibility in emerging markets, we are forming strategic partnerships with leading organisations in the region. In February, we cultivated meaningful partnerships with Impact Hub Lagos, Impact Investors Foundation (IIF), and 54 Collective, a VC firm focused on early stage ventures in Africa.

The primary focus of the event was a panel session themed, “Impact Investing Readiness for Social Entrepreneurs”. Read the details of the panel session here.
